So what's happened...

Last week I was almost a packing genius - only 7 & a half months after moving out of the house of DOOM, I managed to find floors and pack and declutter and stuff. All without the help of wine!! :) How did I cope ??

I am now quite comfortable that one lorry load should clear all the large stuff from the house and I can go forward - now to find the time :)

Lost & found

I have just been prompted back to this after a friend (devil) has re-started her life and started a new blog.

Wow, hasn't my life changed.  I am now living back with husband in a caravan, down the other end of the country after a spell of working in Wales.

What a difference a few months makes.  I shall try and update over forthcoming posts!

AAAggh - Panic stations

So, I was applying for jobs randomly so I could move closer to husband, (who's working down south).  It hasn't been very successful to date but now 2 interviews are on the horizon and I am all in a tizz.

Must prep, must prep, stop playing about on pc and avoiding!  :)

(Must get camera back soon so I can pretty this up with some piccies.)

Crazy thoughts

While driving down south this weekend, I had little to cheer me up.

Until I saw a little truck driving along, it was for a Scania truck recycling company.  So I thought to myself - Oh, that's good to know.
Now I know I like to think I am into recycling and good for the environment type stuff, albeit in a talk about it better than doing it kind of way, but seriously WHY do I need to know about Scania recycled parts?

Then, a bit further down the road, there were thousands of leaves blowing around, it didn't look or feel too windy but still, it was quite pretty.  Then I caught up with an open caged wagon that had obviously been collecting leaf waste - only for it all to blow back out along another road.  Small things to keep me amused on the long journeys!!

I always seem to be complaining

Last weekend, my nan died.  She had been poorly, was of a reasonable age and had been through various ops.  It's still a bummer.  The way I got the news was mildy amusing. My brother rang me, (note; my uncle has been very poorly too), conversation went something like:
BRO - are you sitting down?
ME - no, what's happened?
BRO - N (random, phone breaking up noise), has died, (Note - uncle's name also begins with N!)
ME - Who? Who has died?
BRO - phone cutting off
ME - Which bluming one?

I tried to call back, engaged (probably trying to ring me back), so I wait and have another similarly cut off call. Finally, establish it's my nan.  In my usual 'I'm ok' way, I go into ultra efficient mode and say ok, I'll find out what's going on, speak to you later.

Ring husband, (who works away), let him know what's happened. Just about to get stuck into something distracting like the housework, (way too early for a glass of vino!), mum rings. Bro has called her, (with the same cutting off of phone-ness) and explained that I might be upset so .. she rings me to see if I'm ok.

Eventually, spoke to uncles and got some more information, wouldn't really know much more till after the weekend.
Anyway, that was the lengthy background to my rant.

The eldest uncle has taken 3 days off to sort stuff at my nan's and has (apparently), gone back to work today and they have fired him. He was saying yesterday that he was 'allowed '2 days bereavement, but that's just pants in terms of sorting out funeral and 'stuff'.
I am sooo cross.
Other than that (and my brother incurring injury whilst playing hockey a couple of weeks back, leaving him unable to work, drive or do a lot), life is good.  Bonkers, but good.

Summer's gone.

So, throughout most of summer, I have been offline and / or miserable. What a combination.

Just been woken up, (about an hour ago), to the belting down rain.  Had to get up and check that those roof 'window' things are all shut in the caravan.  Fortunately, the only one open was the bathroom one.

Realised that none of the windows were open to let fat cat in so donned waterproofs and went out for a nosey, using the torch I had in my hand would have been useful as I stepped in a puddle -(right up to my middle?), in my trainers - now soaked.

No cat.  Back to the van, cuppa & 30 seconds later, meow (Sp???).  Tried to dry him off but all he wanted to do was sleep!!

OH now due to get up for work. He has managed to sleep through the rain and his alarm - HOW??
Off to make another cuppa.

Flat caps, no whippet

My friend is having a musical themed party tonight & as usual I am down to the wire on the costume front!     I thought I might go as Oliver but need to make, borrow, steal a flat cap! And still in the very early stages of putting together a waistcoat! If all fails I' ll resort to the back up plan - if I can think of one!
